Where did the Uncle
Bobs Club get the name?
Back in the beginning
a 10-cent piece was called a shilling (nickname was a bob).
So by putting in a bob
a week the name was decided on see short video.
The Uncle Bobs Club was formed to assist the sick and disabled children in Victoria through various hospitals and institutions.
The Club objectives, regarding the purpose for which funds are used, are as follows:
Generally to raise funds, work for and assist in the promotion and development of any public or private charitable or philanthropic purpose which is carried on otherwise than for the purpose of profit or gain, AND BEING SOLELY FOR THE BENEFIT OF SICK AND DISABLED CHILDREN.
To promote medical and other research into illness, complaints and physical, mental or intellectual disorders in children.
To raise funds for the Royal Children's Hospital or any other hospital or institution, irrespective of any religious affiliation.
