A big hello to all
Congratulations to all involved in another magnificent Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. The tireless effort of all the volunteers throughout the state have again culminated in another record donation to The Royal Children’s Hospital
This year the Peninsula Group phoned in $83,727.32, another Record Amount!
On the day our Group raised a staggering $69,015.30. This amazing amount of money is raised largely through the annual Wheelbarrow push from Sorrento to Safety Beach, a distance of over 28 kilometres. An Amount of $13,614.00 was collected in the wheelbarrow. Our friends of the Southern CFA Fire Brigades whose efforts collecting around the local neighbourhoods along the way contributed $51,400.00 to our overall total and the balance is collected by shaking tins at various intersections along the highway. Well done everyone!
We need to thank the Mornington Peninsula Beachside Tourism Inc.; they are responsible for providing lunch to the 120 collectors and helpers. Also many thanks to the local businesses who donated food for the lunch.
Thankyou to the Rosebud Hotel for providing us with a room for the day. The Rosebud Hotel has supported the Uncle Bobs since 1956.
Thankyou to the Assistant Manager, Mary Anne Moody, and the ten Staff of the Rosebud Branch of the ANZ bank for co-ordinating the sorting and counting of the money. There’s no way we could count all the money without the help of the ANZ Bank. Whoever said banks are only interested in profit think again. Well done guys!
Thankyou to our tireless members & friends who worked so hard on the day and in the weeks leading up to Good Friday. Well done to our members who sat for days on end selling raffle tickets for our Easter raffle. Well done to our members who stood at intersections or street corners shaking tins & collecting donations. Well done to our members that participated in the wheelbarrow push and walked the 28 kilometres pushing a wheelbarrow full of money. Thankyou to our members who helped with the counting of the money. Well done Peninsula Group, we did a great job.
And the biggest thankyou is left for last and it goes to the Victorian Public whose generosity seems endless and makes all of our efforts worthwhile. You guys are unreal and you were amazingly generous this year.
