Introducing Bronwen Lamond and Sarah Last

Being third and fourth generation Uncle Bober’s, the Uncle Bob’s Club has always been a big part of our lives. David Last, Kevin Lamond and Robert Lamond were all directors of the club, Robert Lamond being one of the founding members and Robert and Kevin Lamond both being past presidents of the club. As current directors (Sarah being Assistant State Secretary and Bronwen being a past State Secretary) we thought it would be nice to give you a sneak peek into the rest of our lives:

Yes

After hearing Tanya Griffiths speak at our general meeting about her work and organ donation on the 14th of March, we thought it would be a fitting end to this article to note that we are both organ donors. After one of Sarah’s friends became very unwell and needed a heart transplant close to two years ago we both decided to become organ donors.  It was scary seeing a young person who was so fit and healthy decline so quickly. Having been a regular helper on Good Friday he was greatly missed by the Hoddle Street collection team. It really made us realise that you can’t take anything for granted, but thankfully this friend has now made a complete recovery thanks to the generosity of another person and their family.
